Participating in music helps students grow academically and fosters an appreciation for the arts that they will carry with them into adulthood. At Sunset School, we offer two opportunities for our students to participate in music activities after school. Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades have the opportunity to audition to participate in the Sunset drum ensemble. The ensemble meets once a week after school to learn to play songs on various types of drums culminating in performances through the winter months. Students in 4th and 5th grades have an opportunity to audition to participate in the Sunset honor choir, a weekly after school activity that involves performances throughout the year.
Please contact our music teacher, Kara Pinney, for more information about our music program.
Is your son or daughter the leader of the pack? Leadership skills will only continue to grow more and more important as your son or daughter gets older. Student council allows your child to practice being a leader and gives students valuable experiences in the democratic process. Student officers orchestrate class events and communicate with other students and teachers on the student council team.
